NEW YORK, NY, USA - They rejoined forces at the beginning of the year and have been the hottest team on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour since, capturing six titles so far this year, including their second and third Grand Slam titles as a team at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Although they weren't able to win their first US Open, they still pulled off a career-first, becoming the first ever team bloggers for sonyericssonwtatour.com.

Hey everyone! Yes, I am quite relaxed as I didn't have to hit any tennis balls today... That doesn't happen very often, that we have a day off... My vacation has started and what better place than in New York City! Today was very low-key. We did a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Nothing too exciting, sorry!

Now, tomorrow is going to be awesome! We are waking up when we wake up. That doesn't happen very often either. I'm looking forward to having breakfast at the diner up the street. Then we are going to take the red bus tour! I'm not sure where all it goes, how long it takes or where it stops, but we will be on it! I also would like to go up the Empire State Building. You see, tennis players only get to see the hotels, tennis courts and airports. When you are done with a tournament, you are off to the next and when you are done with a trip, then you want to go home. We had the option to leave and go home today. I knew I would be resting either way, so why not stay in New York another couple of days! In Rome we had lost in the semis and we had the next week off before the French Open. That Sunday we took a bus tour and walked the ancient ruins. Now you are probably thinking: why the bus tour? It's relaxing and you don't have to walk. Walking is tiring and we exercise enough as it is :-) Oh yes the middle Sunday of Wimbledon we also took a bus tour in London. It was an open double-decked bus. We were very lucky it didn't rain that day!

We plan to have dinner early and at night we are going to see the Broadway play Hairspray! It'll be a fun filled day and a great way to end our trip in New York.

I'm watching the end of Jankovic/Williams right now. What a match! They both deserve to win! Hopefully in my next life I can play like them!

Seriously though, it's been a pleasure for Cara and myself to blog. We appreciate all of you supporting women's tennis! We hope to have a good rest, so that we can start the indoor season strong and bring you all good tennis!

Keep following us. We love it!

All the best,

Liezel
