Welcome back friends!
Have you ever seen the movie Groundhog Day? The one with Bill Murray where he is a weatherman stuck in Punxsutawney, PA on assignment and he wakes up everyday and does the exact same thing, everyday???? That's kinda how I am beginning to feel. I am up every morning at 5:15 am (all of a sudden I am an insomniac but that's a whole other issue!), I get my coffee in the lobby, come back to my room, look out my window and see the same faces and events every morning. Same group of runners going go by, same delivery truck dropping off produce, and so on. It's not that I don't like New Haven, it's a great college town. I think I just need to get to NYC!!!!
Let's see - today I hit, worked out twice, yada yada yada. Had another free afternoon and of course, couldn't help but do a little shopping. My partner in crime, Rennae, joined me once again on my shopping spree and within minutes of entering the first store, I had three things in my hand to buy. Our usual "oh just get it" mantra had quickly changed to "why not?" when either were asked the question "should I get this?". As I said before, we are not the greatest influences on each other in these circumstances but we always have fun so who cares! I bought some really cool things, some for me and a couple cute items for my nieces, and called it an afternoon. Then it was back to the room to start packing. I put some good music on and started to pack the room, as well as put on a little fashion show for myself with some of my new purchases. That's always a fun way to spend some time :-)
Time flies when you're having fun and before I knew it it was time for dinner. Tonight's choice was a place called Fosters. I had never been and let me tell you, wow! My food was amazing! The salmon was incredible, as was everything ordered. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Tomorrow, it's off to New York! I am so looking forward to getting there, getting settled and enjoying my day off on Friday. This will be my last blog entry but I want to thank everyone for reading. I hope it was enjoyable and I REALLY hope that next time I write, I will have more tennis to chat about :-) But before I go, one last Top 5 list. How about the ultimate Top 5 - My Top 5 favorite songs of all time! Songs that are on every playlist, on every CD and always bring a smile to my face or a tear to my eye...
Top 5 Songs!!
1 - "41" by Dave Mathews Band... without question, my favorite song of all time!!!!!
2 - "This Year's Love" by David Grey... haunting... love him!
3 - "Anna Begins" by Counting Crows... I absolutely love this song. You can actually feel how much pain he is in. "Every word is nonsense but I understand it all" - one of my all time favorite lines.
4 - "Hey Jealousy" by Gin Blossoms... always puts me in the best mood. I lost count how many times I sang this one on stage...
5 - "By Your Side" by Sade... the words are so sweet, so amazing. One could only be so lucky...
And one last song...
6 - "Lightning Crashes" by Live... I have seen these guys live so many times and this is always the encore. Each time the entire audience sings every single word. He doesn't sing once... amazing!
