Good morning! I slept in today. My coach woke me up at 10 asking if I was coming to breakfast... I told him three minutes and I'm down! I like sleeping in, especially if I don't play until later in the afternoon. I'm lucky to be able to do that because a lot of people wake up automatically at the same time every day...
Yesterday's match against Renata Voracova was good, not perfect though. It was very, very long. One of those matches where nothing was great, I was only fighting and putting the balls in... I actually don't really know what I was doing. I was just trying to win. You just grit your teeth and hope for the best.
I was down 4-1 in the third set, but the games were all very close, so I knew I was coming close. It didn't feel like I was losing. I didn't believe I would lose. The rallies were long and neither of us were missing - in the end, I was able to win. It was a good feeling. If I'm able to take it physically, why not?
After the match I went running for 10 or 15 minutes to get the stress out of my body. I also drank a lot because I could feel a little cramping in my cooldown, which is normal because I lost a lot of liquids. Then I had a 20-minute shower. After all of that I went to dinner! My coach had steak but he told me I needed to have carbs, so I ate pasta... he said he'd give me a piece of his steak though! Then I had a 30-minute massage (thankfully the physios were still there).
Then time for bed... I really enjoy sleeping - and I'm not just in my bed awake and being lazy, I'm really sleeping. Like SLEEPING. Then I'll wake up at 10 or 11 and it's a nice feeling, although half the day is over :)
I got lucky yesterday because the men's match before mine went three sets, so I didn't start until 5 or 6. I enjoy men's tennis. I wish I could play like the guys for just one year... but it's a totally different game, so I doubt it! My favorite men's player is David Ferrer. He's not cocky or arrogant, and he never forgets why he's here - he does his job professionally. He won here last year so it would be nice if he defended his title. I hope he can win - I wish him all the best!
I'm playing against Johanna Larsson today. I've never played her before, but I kind of know how she plays. She's a young newcomer... It will be interesting. We start at 4pm, Acapulco time. It will be sunny, hot and unbelievably humid.
After I write this I'm going to rush over to do something for TV, then going down to the pool to sit in the shade, chilling with a Coke, playing on my phone... I have a game, Angry Birds. You have different birds and have to shoot at the pigs. I'm addicted to it. There are so many levels and they always update them, bring new features in... and there are also seasonal versions of the game for Halloween, Valentine's Day, Christmas... I'm sure there will be one for Easter!!
I'll talk to you all tomorrow... have a nice day!!
