Hey everyone!
It's amazing how much one can get done in a day... Hurricane Irene is but a distant memory!
Coming from Houston, Texas, we have had a couple of hurricanes come through. The last one wasn't that much fun, as we didn't have electricity and water for six days! Our tennis courts had a lot of damage, we had flooding and also many trees down. With every hurricane scare we have been as prepared as we could be. And this was the case with Hurricane Irene. We drew on our past experiences and got ready! I am very happy to report that the eye of the storm spared us and not just that, Irene later got downgraded to a tropical storm. Today my mom returned a lot of the supplies we had bought and didn't use (I kept the flashlights and batteries, because those are always in demand and when you need them, they are sold out!)
The day was not a waste. It was a rest day! I made breakfast and lunch for my family. More interesting though... we started a jigsaw puzzle! You are thinking: why a jigsaw puzzle? I will explain. Our friends, who we stay with during the Australian Open are here visiting with us. At their house we do jigsaw puzzles for relaxation. Julianne brought a jigsaw puzzle with her! I have included a picture of Tony, Monita and myself starting the puzzle... and a picture of my dad and Julianne at the completed puzzle! Now there is sadness, because we don't have another puzzle to do. I have a feeling between my mom and Julianne, we will have another puzzle tomorrow! I want to break the puzzle up and put it back in the box... my dad wants to glue it and frame it...

Today was very busy. From the moment we arrived at the courts, it was go go go. Lisa and I had a great practice with Groenefeld and Barrois this afternoon. I met some people from the Waner Foundation, we had dinner and then they went to watch the matches in Arthur Ashe Stadium. We didn't get back until 8pm.
In the transportation over to the courts this morning, I had thought of a few interesting things to tell you... I am sorry, you will have to wait until tomorrow :-(
We have a car booked at 6:45am. Early birds catch the worm...
xoxoxo
