Me on my laptop...

Hey everyone!!!

We are home, we had dinner and we are watching the Mike Russell and Andy Roddick match. We had a good day. I hope you have too!

We were scheduled fourth match on Court 4 with a men's singles (best of five sets) before us. I was prepared for a late match and a long day at the courts. I don't know when last I played a day match at the US Open... It happened today! Our court went quite fast and we even had the sun in our eyes while serving! Great great great! We stayed a bit longer at the courts after our match; me doing a little gym, having physio treatment and printing out some papers (that I need to Fed-Ex tomorrow morning). We were "home" by 7:30pm.

So about the Fed-Ex, I will explain... My husband and I invest in real estate. We don't spend our money on new cars or lavish things, but on rental properties. We buy foreclosures, fix them up and rent them out. It may sound boring, but we enjoy it. We enjoy the hunt to find the right property. We enjoy the bidding process. We enjoy seing the property transformation and we love being great landlords. We look at it as our retirement money. The bug has bitten my dad and he too is looking for an investment property! Well, today we acquired another investment property. Lisa and I warmed up at 12:15pm for our match. When we finished at 1pm, my phone rang. It was the title company to check on our power of attorney (my mother-in-law signed the papers for us today). I got a text 15 minutes later to say that she has the keys. So now we own a house that needs work... I think we should wait 'til after the US Open! I almost forgot, the Fed-Ex needs to be sent to the utility company to turn the water on! I have already taken care of the electricity and the gas :-)

Lisa and I had a good match today. It's too bad that four Americans had to play each other! Spears and Kops-Jones are very experienced doubles players. We got off to a good start and kept ahead throughout the match. We ended the match with a 62 62 win. I think our next opponents are on the schedule tomorrow. Typically I don't look at the draw and I take it as it comes (everyone is tough!) Bob Bryan and I are playing mixed doubles tomorrow!!! Yeah! I love playing with Bob and looking forward to tomorrow's mixed match!

My friend from Paris finally arrived here in New York. The hurricane delayed her trip by three days... Anyway, it was very sunny today and sure she got sunburned watching our match! Stef, you need to buy sunscreen!

We opened the windows during dinner. We smoke the place up with all the cooking. The city is alive again... The taxis are honking, the emergency sirens are going and you can hear the people enjoying the outdoor cafes! The US Open is alive too... the grounds are bustling with eager tennis fans and the stands are packed! I love it!

I am so sad to hear about Venus withdrawing from the US Open. Venus is such a champion and know she will fight herself back to good health!

I forgot to mention this yesterday, my sister had her follow-up with Dr. Rosen. He is extremely happy with her recovery and gave Monita the thumbs up to return home... We aren't letting her go yet, she came and watched my tennis match today! She is exhausted, but glad to see me play at the US Open.

Another puzzle!

And it begins...

We started another puzzle... but I need to go to sleep now! I will do some puzzle while I eat my cereal... I am not addicted... promise :-)

Until tomorrow... night night.

xoxoxo
