Hey everyone!

It's been another long day... I am not complaining. It just feels like yesterday never ended and today continued... and now I need sleep!

Where do I start? We had less than 12 hours to "turn around". That means, from the time we set foot in the house and the time we left the house again, it was 11 hours. Eating was quick, sleeping was quick and getting ready was quick. That's the US Open and most Grand Slams for you! I remember finishing our quarterfinal doubles at 12:30am and being scheduled at 2pm the next day... well, technically it wasn't the next day, but the same day.

We left here at 9:15am. Lisa and I had a relaxing warm-up. We ate lunch and then waited... (I had taken a 15 minute nap too) I am happy to report that all went well. We had a good match against two strong players. We won, 62 61. I love Court 4! That's my third match in a row on Court 4... may be my lucky court! Tomorrow Bob and I are scheduled on Court 17. I don't mind that so much, because Court 17 is the new stadium court the US Open has just added!

We are watching the Roddick/Sock match. My husband says that we are scouting Sock. He is our opponent in the mixed doubles tomorrow. I hope he gets very tired tonight and only hits half the speed of what he is hitting now! The boy is good! Very good! Maybe we won't hit much to him :-)

We finally went out to dinner! Before everyone arrived in New York, I ordered groceries to be delivered. It was the BIG shop. It included the detergents, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, cereals, juices, waters, sodas, pastas, sauces, etc. Since my mom has been buying the daily items we need. Typically when we are at tournaments that are two weeks long, we rent an apartment. We enjoy our own food and the relaxing atmosphere. When we go out for dinner, it is more of a treat. Tonight we went to Thai. When I looked around the table, everyone had ordered something different! It's funny, because every night we all eat the same food, but then we go out and everyone has their own taste and orders something different. Tomorrow night we are having chicken stir-fry. Last night we ate pasta. Food is very important in a tennis player or any athlete's regime. It's our fuel and we can't run on an empty tank! What's also very important is to be comfortable during these long events. There are a lot of distractions during big events and you want to keep it to a minimum as much as possible. Sometimes it costs you a lot (like this apartment), but it is an investment. Hopefully I will do well enough this tournament that I can afford to come back to this apartment next year!!!

Me again!

The puzzle is feeling neglected... maybe if I had more time and the puzzle wasn't so difficult, then it would be different... Laundry is not neglected and about to go into the dryer... I am going to check on it :-)

Night night,

xoxoxo
