Hey everyone!

A loss is a loss and it never feels good. That's what happened to me today... we lost in our mixed doubles! I am struggling to shake this awful feeling off! I had a great partner and we started off well. Then I had a bad service game, which lead to having a bad 15 minutes... NOT GOOD! In mixed doubles a bad 15 minutes can cost you the match. It did. We lost in the super-tiebreaker. I have lots to learn from the match and learn, I will. I have to! I say I have to, because I have to if I want to play good tennis tomorrow. Today is done and I can't turn back the clock, but tomorrow is a new day. I am working through it in my head and not trying to dwell on the bad I did today. I think of my fist being clenched every time I start having negative thoughts and I just need to open my hand and let it go. Trust me, I am having to open my hand every few seconds... it will get easier :-) (I know this from past experiences)

We had chicken stir-fry. My mom had everything prepared, she cut up the vegetables and meat. All we had to do is put it in the pan and add soya or sweet and sour. I ate, but wasn't that hungry. My routine after every match is the same. One of the things that I do is, drink my electrolyte drink and a protein recovery drink. Both are powders and both come from Japan. I was struggling with my recovery after a match and competing at the same level the next day. Playing wasn't fun anymore. My husband suggested I start taking protein. I thought, who better to ask than 40 year old, Kimiko Date-Krumm, who still competes in singles! A year later, I am still on my electrolyte and protein drinks. They fill me up and that's why I didn't have much of an appetite tonight. You can imagine how much luggage I have... I go through a pair of tennis shoes every two weeks. I travel with my electrolyte packets, protein powder, Gatorade powder (for during the match), protein bars, vitamins and minerals, string, grips and that's not even my match clothes, practice clothes, casual clothes, rackets, or toiletries... My husband doesn't mind buying something he runs out of during a trip. I am different. I like what I am used to, so if it means I have to carry three months of shampoo and conditioner, then I do. I think we will be checking seven pieces of luggage when we leave New York! Mind you, I have been on the road since 2nd of January. Sad I know, but I love my job! See you guys even made me forget about my loss today... Okay, I am opening my hand again and letting go... :-)

The apartment is more quiet tonight. We miss my twin sister! She is flying back to Holland tonight. At least she didn't watch our mixed match... okay, I am opening my hand again... :-) Everyone is very quiet. my mom is reading. My dad is taking a nap on the couch. Julianne, David and Tony are on their computers. I know Tony downloaded a new game. My computer is a bit outdated and I don't have the game app to be able to get new games on my computer.

Okay, it's puzzle time. First I will be checking on my laundry...

Night night,

xoxoxo
