Hello everyone and welcome to my blog... my first WTA blog!
This is the first time I've ever been to Seoul. I haven't seen much of the city yet but the hotel and tournament are really nice. The site is at the Olympic Center, which has a lot of history. They held the 1988 Olympics here. A lot of great players fought for their dreams and won gold medals here - it feels sacred.
I hope I can play well in my first time playing this tournament. I'm still looking forward to my first WTA title - that's also my main goal here.
The flight was long but nice. I've been trying to travel more with my family or friends on the tour, and this time I came with my best friend. Flying all the way to Asia is a long journey, so it's nice to have such a good friend with me.
We had the player party last night and it was a lot of fun. The stage show was good and the atmosphere was great. We laughed a lot. I had a very good time!
I had my first match today, against Arantxa Parra Santonja. It was a tough match, especially in the second set. She plays aggressively. The conditions were also difficult - it started to rain and there was a strong wind too, but I just focused and adapted my game to the weather. I'm happy I was able to win.
Oh and as an update... you may have read that I had an abdominal injury in the summer and had to stop in the middle of the US Open Series, but it's really not bothering me anymore. It's gone now and I hope it won't come back.
Tonight my friend and I are going for dinner and just relaxing. Nothing special!
Thanks for reading and please send your questions in!
Have a good night :)
