In case you didn't know it was my birthday today. I have spent my birthday in Miami for the last five years or so. Not a bad place to be if you have to be away from home ;) Today I had a doubles match, which Nadia and I won, and then I had a little physio and was out of the courts pretty early. We went for dinner at a French restaurant in Coconut Grove, it was very good. I remember going to George's last year too. They always play some crazy loud music and have lights going off when it's someones birthday there. As soon as we sat down it went off for another table and the whole place starts clapping and getting into it. It's pretty funny and there is no escaping the attention. I slipped under the radar tonight though and missed out...
I gave myself an early present last night when I beat Jelena in our match. I played very well and was very pleased with the win. After losing to her last week in Indian Wells it was great to turn the result around so quickly. I'm really looking forward to my next match against Kim tomorrow night.
I'll respond to some more of your questions now.
It's pretty cool you answer all of our questions - if you had a question for your fans, what would it be? Nolwenn
That's a tough one. Hmm. What is the best tournament for fans to go? Why do you like the players you like?
What kind of car do you drive? Tom
I have a Jeep Liberty in Tampa. It's green and I'm always worried it will have a flat battery from not being driven while im away ;) When I'm in Australia, Orix car leasing company gives me a car to drive while I'm there, so that works out great!
What is your greatest fear? Wanda
I have started to very much not enjoy flying. I don't know why but recently I've hated it more and more. Any turbulence starts to worry me so on my last few flights I just try to go to sleep. It's not easy trying to force yourself to sleep though in situations like that. Hopefully that feeling goes away soon 'cause I have no choice but to get on a plane every week!
What is the best match you've played to date? Jacob
There are a few that stand out. Last night against Jelena was up there. Wozniacki in Osaka last year, Kuznetsova in Toronto last year, Jill Craybas in Seoul in 2008 and my matches at Fed Cup in Adelaide earlier this year were good too. It's not easy to play your absolute best everyday when you step on to the court so when everything does happen it's a great feeling.
Okay sleep time for me now, hope my blog has given you some more insight to what goes on and what I do. I'll be back again tomorrow,
