Hey everyone,

Great first day at the Citi Open! It's been a bit warm in DC, but the hospitality and environment here is great. Okay, I have to tell you, I'm staying right down from the White House - literally one block! Today, my brother and I walked down to take a closer look - it was actually smaller than I thought it would be.

I won my first match today, doubles with my partner Anna Chakvetadze. We had an amazing comeback win from 1-6 0-3 down to advance to the second round.

The player party was tonight on the roof deck of The W. Hotel. All I can say is "Wow"! The view was spectacular and the atmosphere was really cool. Way to go Citi Open for showing all of the ATP and WTA players such a great time. I got a few pictures of the Washington Monument :-) and the White House from the party :-)

It's been a really long day so I'm heading to bed early. Good night!

Sloane
