Tonight was a windy night in DC! I played my first round on Grandstand and got through in three sets. Yeah! The match tonight was tough. It was windy out there and I had to stay aggressive out there. Sesil played a solid match!!! I can't say that I got to accomplish a lot today in the sightseeing arena because I was preparing for my first round match. Actually, I got to have a nice lunch with my brother, Shawn, at a local pizza place. It's always great to hang out with my little bro! In preparation for my match, I had an early warm-up at the Citi Open... in the boiling hot Washington, DC sun :) Later on, I played games on my iPad, watched a little TV, and took a nap.
Tomorrow, I play last on Grandstand 1 and I plan to do the same as today. I'll have a hit mid-day and go back to my room to have a little rest before my match. I was really hungry after my match tonight so I think I'll have a bigger lunch tomorrow - something I really love, like sushi!
And yes, I've also been following the Olympics all day long! I love watching all of the sports and it's amazing to see the brilliance of the human spirit in competition. Best wishes to all of the USA Team Members in every sport. I'm watching and cheering for you (along with everyone in America)!
In case any of you were wondering, Anna Chakvadatze connected here in DC to play doubles. We were both looking for a partner, and it just worked out that we agreed to play. It's a little random, but that's how it works sometimes. So far, so good :-)
Talk to you all again tomorrow!
