Hey everyone, another scorcher in Washington, DC. Not as bad as the first couple of days, but practicing outside in the humidity is tough. Anna and I had a difficult match tonight, lost to the Pliskova twins. I enjoyed playing with Anna, maybe we'll give it a try another time. Gotta give it to the Pliskovas, they played really well tonight! I've got singles tomorrow night, second match after 7pm on center court... another late night in DC.

Today was a really special day, while I only got to see the Lincoln Memorial, my brother Shawn got to take a tour of the White House. He said it was totally amazing. The look on his face after the tour was priceless! This is the first tournament my little bro has been to this year, so I'm glad he's enjoying himself. I love having him around, it makes everything feel like home. Love it! As for me, I'm enjoying DC too! The fans are awesome and the venue is very nice. There are tons of things to do, although I'll have to get the rest of my sightseeing in after the tournament.

Wow, the Olympics - I love the Olympics! Nathan Adrian's Gold Medal swim in the 100m freestyle - awesome! The women's 800m freestyle relay was incredible too! Keep going for Gold USA! USA Tennis is still rockin too - we're all rooting for you guys-keep it going!

Well guys, it's late... again. One last thing, I had the best burger for lunch today at the St. Regis. I'm not a huge burger fan, but this one was one of my top ten burgers of all time! Maybe I was just hungry - um, no, I think it was that good :-) Tomorrow, I'll have a hit mid-day, a nice lunch, a nap, and be ready to go for the night session! They say the weather will be even warmer tomorrow. Please, please, please let it cool off by the evening.

Good night.

xoxo Sloane
