Hello everybody!!

This is Sofia Arvidsson repporting undercover from Memphis this week! No one will be safe...

For those of you who don't know who I am, here's a little help - I'm that Swedish tennis player who doesn't look very Swedish (brown hair).

I'm back at one of my favorite tournaments, Memphis. It's very special to me since I have won the title twice and made the finals once. It might be something with the air, in the food, some luck or that I like to play indoors that's the explanation... who knows.

But before coming here I was in Argentina playing Fed Cup. We did a great team effort and managed to turn 0-2 around into a 3-2 victory. It was a big win for us and now we are taking on USA for a spot in the highest group, exciting!

The first thing I had to do when I got to the US was buy a new skipping rope. When I was going through the security at Buenos Aires they stopped me - he took my skipping rope out of my tennis bag and said, "This is not allowed on board, this can be used as a weapon!!" I guess I looked like the kind of person that would try to strangle the pilot. Well, I don't blame them. When I'm tired and hungry I can look pretty dangerous... but since footwork is pretty good to have when you play tennis I just had to buy a new one.

Today is special 'cause it's Saturday, but it's also a special day in another way... it's my birthday. Celebrating your birthday away from home can be tough, but I have received a lot of wishes today from friends. Feels nice to know I cross so many people's minds, at least once a year ;)

My sparring partner who is here with me surprised me at breakfast this morning. He gave me a very nice necklace and also gifts from my family at home. Tonight I'm going out for a little birthday dinner with two of my friends on tour, Johanna Larsson and Irina Falconi, and the rest of their team. I'm sure that will be a lot of fun! But since the doubles draw just came out and it turns out me and Johanna are playing against Irina and her partner in the first round, we might not allow her to come along to dinner.......................

Only kidding, she is always welcome to dinner, even if she planning on beating us.

Since I think I should give myself some gifts on my birthday, I decided I'm going to download some new songs to my iPod. I love music!

The draw came out yesterday and if I want to complain, I will do it to myself... because I was helping out making it. I play a qualifier in the first round and we all know qualifiers can be dangerous, so I better be on my toes.

That's all for today!! I'll speak to you tomorrow again!

Sofia
