Hi!

My alarm went off already at 06.45. One thing I really like is to take my time in the morning, no stress. I always eat breakfast in my room. I have my special cereal that I like. But before the brain can start to work I need coffee. We always make a stop at Starbucks before going to the courts. After a double espresso life feels good.

Today's mission was doubles. Good thing about that is that you have a partner to talk to and also just have to cover half of the court. Me and Johanna played well today and won, 62 64. We also won the deciding doubles in Fed Cup last week so now we have a two-match winning streak..... C'mon.

Playing against good friends on tour can sometimes be special but I think most girls are very professional on the tour. Like last year I played a few times against my Scandinavian friend Caroline Wozniacki. We had one match we played in Indian Wells that lasted almost three hours. I was one game away from winning but Caroline walked off the court as a winner. On the way back to the locker room we shared the golf cart. Even though a few minutes before we were fighting like crazy to win, we were sitting in the car joking that next time we play we can't have those long rallies, they make us so tired..... I think that's how it should be. On court we are fighting and off court friends again.

Tennis players need good food so we have energy to play our matches. Here in Memphis they provide a nice lunch buffet with lots of choices. I was so strong today - I walked by the dessert table without tasting anything. Okay, maybe I took a tiny piece of the carrot cake but see, that's not a dessert....... that we count as vegetables...

Sometimes you must be careful what you say. While we were sitting having our afternoon coffee and I was reading my book, I ironically told Stefan: "Wow we have too much stress today....." Maybe I shouldn't have said that - when we were on our way to the hotel, Stefan realized that he was missing his phone. We went straight back to the cafe and found out someone had handed in the phone. Great!! But what wasn't so great was that someone had already driven over it and it didn't survive. So Stefan vs iPhone, 0-1.

I was resting in the afternoon since I will have a busy program tomorrow. Both singles and doubles. The singles will be a replay of last year's final, I play against Marina Erakovic. Last year we had a good match and I hope tomorrow will be the same. In the doubles we play versus Kudryavtseva and Dabrowski. They beat the first-seeded team so I think we better be on our toes.

We had some dinner at the courts and when we entered the restaurant there was a band playing. It was a bit dark but I thought two of the guys looked like people I've seen before...... and my vision was right. It was Mike and Bob Bryan playing. Talented boys!!
