Hi there!!

It's time for a Thursday report.

The morning started the same as every morning. As usual we didn't have to order our coffee, the guy would just see us walk in and start making our coffee. I warmed up with Johanna at 10. Then we had a light lunch to have energy for our match.

Like yesterday's quaterfinal we had a very tough match today. We lost the first set 6-4 but we refused to give up and fought back with a 6-2 second set. In the super tie-break we were up 8-5 but suddenly down matchpoint 8-9...... but somehow we turned it around and won 11-9. Really exciting to be in the finals!

After the match I said to Johanna:
- Wow we saved a match point!!
- We did???

She had no idea..... Guess she was so focused she didn't know the score.

I rewarded the victory with some intervals in the gym. That always feels good afterwards.

In the afternoon I enjoyed watching my friends Philipp Petzschner and Jürgen Melzer play doubles against Nestor/Kubot. It's a lot of fun watching men's doubles. I was really impressed with the way they all played. I might ask if I can borrow some of their shots in the final.

A funny story with Jürgen Melzer is that last year at this tournament I interviewed him for the Swedish tennis magazine. I made up 10-15 questions and he answered them. We did it before the tournament and one week later we both lifted the trophy! So I think we need to do another interview soon, maybe in Indian Wells...?

Remember I told you about having sushi in the locker room few days ago? Seemed like someone sneaked a photo, so I guess I have to share it with you all:

For dinner me, Stefan, Johanna and her coach Jeff decided to eat at a classic Memphis place.... The Corky's. I can tell you we didn't walk out from that place hungry.

Tomorrow is a day off for us but that doesn't mean we don't go to work. We will hit the practice court and work hard!

It feels really great that the last year of this tournament I will get to play another final!

Last but not least I would like to send a greeting to one of my friends on tour, Ross Hutchins. Happy Birthday Ross!! We are all thinking about you and hope you are recovering well so we can see you back on tour soon!!
