Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog - it's my first blog since Cincinnati last year, and I did really well at that tournament, so hopefully it will bring me some luck this week as well :)

First I'll tell you about what I've been doing since Wimbledon. After I was done at Wimbledon I took about seven to 10 days off. I went to Mallorca for a short holiday, about four or five days, and I just relaxed a little bit. And then when I got back I went to watch F1 in Nürnberg for the weekend! I'm a really big fan of fast cars and of course Sebastian Vettel - it was very, very nice, and very cool.

And actually the photo in this blog is from that weekend!

But after all of that I started to practice again and prepare for the US tour. I had about two or three weeks of practicing hard and preparing for this long trip! I was spending a little bit of time in Germany and a little bit of time in Poland. It was great to spend some time back at home, of course.

I'm also really happy to be back on hardcourts. I like clay and grass, but most of the tournaments are on hardcourts and I really enjoy this surface, so I'm really looking forward to the summer.

I came to Washington on Friday. It's my first time here, so it's pretty special for me. The weather is unbelievable here - there's a lot of humidity, so it could be difficult to play in, but I still really enjoy it. The people have been so nice here, too, and the city is so nice - tonight we walked by the White House. I'm just really happy to be here and thanks very much to the tournament for the wildcard!

And thanks to all of you for reading - hopefully you enjoy it this week, and send me your questions!

Goodnight :-)

Angie
