Simona Halep brings us her second entry from the Mutua Madrid Open, where she's working hard on the practice court so she can play hard on the match court - and sprinkle in some shopping, too...

Hello again everyone :)

So, let me tell you what I've been doing today. First thing in the morning I ran about 20 minutes, and then I did my back exercises like always - they are very important for me. After breakfast I came on site, got my ankle taped, and then got ready for my practice with Maria Kirilenko. We played points - it was a good practice. Afterwards I did some more exercises for my back with my fitness coach.

Then I had lunch - pasta :) And then I went back to the hotel and took a nap for about 45 minutes. And then one of the best parts of the day, I went shopping! I bought a nice belt and a night dress :)

In the evening I had a massage with my physio, and now of course I'm writing to you guys!

Another thing today is I learned who I will play first round, because it's a qualifier - and it's Julia Goerges. She's a very tough opponent. She's a great player. I'm looking forward to preparing for that match and I want to do everything I can because it's just my second tournament on clay this year.

Yesterday I said I would hit on the center court, but I ended up hitting on Stadium 3 - I think it's a little bit faster, but I felt the ball really well, and I hit with Eugenie Bouchard, a great player.

That was definitely a good practice too :)

I have a few people here with me. My brother and his wife, my coach, my fitness coach and my physio - I feel good here in Madrid, it's a special tournament for me, and they make it even more special!

I'll talk to you all again tomorrow... have a good night!
