GLASGOW, Scotland - On Monday, Laura Robson was announced as an ambassador for SportsAid, a UK charity that helps young British athletes become the champions. On Tuesday she was already at work, going to an event up in Glasgow alongside the charity's patron, Kate Middleton.
Robson was one of six SportsAid ambassadors who attended a reception at SSE's Home Nation House, sharing their experiences with 15 SportsAid athletes who hope to follow in their footsteps.
Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was in Glasgow during her visit to the Commonwealth Games.
"It is a massive help to have someone so high profile be part of such a great organization," Robson said. "It's great that she is involved and I look forward to doing more events like this in future."
The other five SportsAid ambassadors speaking with SportsAid athletes at the event were swimmers Keri-Anne Payne, Steve Parry and James Hickman and Paralympians Aled Davies and Sally Brown.
