Biography

Garbiñe Muguruza and Carla Suárez Navarro teamed up for the first time in Miami in 2014, upsetting Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci in their very first match.

That was a sign of things to come, as they reached the final of their next event in Madrid and the semifinals of their first Grand Slam at the French Open.

The Spaniards picked up their first title in Stanford and reached another final in Tokyo, shortly thereafter clinching their spot in the field at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global.

"I have enjoyed playing doubles this year with Carla and we are both excited about coming to Singapore," Muguruza said. "Ever since reaching the final in Madrid, we set a goal to qualify for the WTA Finals. It will be an honor to compete against the best eight doubles teams in the world on the best stage in women's tennis."
