Biography

Since they started playing together in 2008, Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka have become one of the most formidable teams on the WTA, capturing 11 titles together. Their biggest triumph in the first few years of their partnership came at the French Open in 2011, where they became the first all-Czech duo to win a Grand Slam doubles title since Jana Novotna and Helena Sukova at Wimbledon in 1990, making it through the entire draw without losing a set.

"A Grand Slam title is a great, great thing," Hradecka said. "Not a lot of people have it, so it's something special."

Since then, Hlavackova and Hradecka's accomplishments have included the 2013 US Open title, runs to the 2012 Wimbledon and US Open finals and silver medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. They also qualified for the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships for the first time in 2012, reaching the final.

"I think we clicked right away here, from the first match, even though we had no matches to prepare, really," Hlavackova said about the 2013 US Open, which also included a mixed doubles crown for her. "It's been a great wave we've been riding these two weeks. I cannot describe how I feel."

After parting ways for most of 2014, Hlavackova and Hradecka are once again a partnership.
