INDIAN WELLS, CA, USA - Four of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour's most accomplished players were on the court Saturday in the Indian Wells doubles final and it was Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik who triumphed for the crown, beating Nadia Petrova and Samantha Stosur in a see-saw battle.

Peschke and Srebotnik, unseeded, split sets with the No.3-seeded team of Petrova and Stosur before winning the duel comfortably in a match tie-break, 64 26 105. It was their first match against a seeded team this fortnight, although they had taken out some very impressive unseeded teams, most notably Maria Kirilenko and Agnieszka Radwanska, recently semifinalists in Australia.

"We are very happy. It couldn't have worked out better for us," Peschke said. "We enjoyed these two weeks. To win on top of that, it's a great feeling."

Peschke now has 15 doubles titles in her Tour career, Srebotnik 22.

"Before we joined together, the other years we were playing pretty well with other partners, so our knowledge of doubles is pretty good and we really put it together," Peschke said. "We're still working on some things, of course."

It was also a sweet victory for the pair because both of them had been out for big chunks of 2009 with injury - Peschke missing the second half of the season with an abdominal injury and Srebotnik missing the first eight months due to a few injuries (mainly heel and shoulder). They were finalists at Dubai recently.

"We were both injured last year and returned around the same time without partners, so it worked out well," Srebotnik said. "We like each other's company on the court. It's good chemistry, and that's the most important thing."

"You have to stick together, no matter what," Peschke added.
