They don't play doubles very often, but when they do, the Williams sisters are almost unbeatable. They are especially dominant when there's a lot at stake, as 14 of their 19 titles are majors or Olympics. Another incredible accomplishment is they've never lost a Grand Slam final and only once in any tournament final.
The Williamses, along with Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond, are the only active players to have completed the career doubles Grand Slam. They have four Australian Opens, two French Opens, four Wimbledons and two US Opens. Their 12 majors are the third-most for a duo in the Open Era. They are 33-3 at the Australian Open, 13-1 at Roland Garros, 32-2 at Wimbledon and 18-2 at the US Open. They also have two Olympic gold medals in doubles.
Serena and Venus started playing together in 1997, and from 1999 through 2003 won at least one major every year. Among their more recent accomplishments are being awarded Doubles Team of the Year in 2009, ascending to the No.1 doubles ranking for the first time in 2010 and after their French Open triumph in 2010, becoming just the third team in history to hold all four majors at the same time, with Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver and Gigi Fernández and Natasha Zvereva the others.
