Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina joined forces for the first time early in 2011 and in just their third event went all the way to the title in Indian Wells.
"We tried playing together in Dubai and Doha and it worked fine," Vesnina said. "From our first match you could see we had chemistry. It really works."
Though they have won just won title since, they are one of the WTA's most consistent duos, with deep tournament runs the norm. The Indian-Russian duo has been especially strong at majors, highlighted by runs to the French Open final and Wimbledon semifinals in 2011.
