Wick Simmons joined The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc., in February 2001 as its Chief Executive Officer and was elected Chairman the following September. He retired in the summer of 2003.

For the 10 years prior to Nasdaq, Simmons served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Securities, Inc., the investment bank and brokerage firm. Prior to joining Prudential Securities in 1991, Simmons served for eight years as President of the Private Client Group of Shearson Lehman Brothers, Inc., the firm he started with in 1966.

Simmons is a former Chairman of the Securities Industry Association, a former director of the NASD and the Chicago Board Options Exchange, and a former President of the Bond Club Of New York. He currently serves as the Lead Director at Raymond James Financial and as a director of Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., Invivoscribe, Inc., and as President and a director of Stonetex Oil Corp.

A past Chairman of the Boards of both the International Tennis Hall Of Fame and Groton School, he currently serves as a trustee of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and The New Bedford Whaling Museum.

Simmons graduated from Harvard College with an AB in 1963 and received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1966. He served in the US Marine Corps Reserve from 1960 until 1966.
