ROME, Italy - Hsieh Su-Wei and Peng Shuai won their third and biggest doubles title on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, edging Daniela Hantuchova and Ai Sugiyama in the final, 75 76(5).

Chinese Taipei's Hsieh and China's Peng, the No.7 seeds, didn't face a seeded team until the final due to a rash of upsets on the bottom half of the draw. The duo took titles previously at Bali last fall and Sydney earlier this year; Hsieh now has six Tour doubles titles to her name while Peng has five.

Hantuchova and Sugiyama, who are looking for their first title together since 2006, had their own phenomenal week as the No.5 seeds, most notably beating co-world No.1s Cara Black and Liezel Huber, the No.1 seeds, for the third time this year (also achieving the feat in the quarters in Brisbane and quarters at the Australian Open) in the quarterfinals and fourth-seeded Nuria Llagostera Vives and María José Martínez Sánchez in the semifinals.

ESTORIL, Portugal - Americans Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears won their first doubles title as a team at the Estoril Open, beating Sharon Fichman and Katalin Marosi in a match tie-break in the final, 26 63 105.

Kops-Jones and Spears, who were the No.3 seeds, had won several titles on the ITF Women's Circuit together but this was their first title on Tour; Kops-Jones now has two Tour doubles titles to her name while Spears has four.

"We're pretty happy that we came away with that win. It was an up and down match, so we were very happy to pull that one out," Spears said afterwards. "We've actually played four match tie-breaks in a row this week, so we felt confident once we managed to take the match into the tie-break today."

"We've been playing together for the last couple of years, and while we've won smaller tournaments together, we've never won a Sony Ericsson WTA Tour title as a team before," Kops-Jones said. "Our game styles match up really well. We like coming to the net a lot. The more we play together the better we can read each other's games. We're also good friends, which helps!"

Neither team had to play a seeded duo en route to the final, though Fichman and Marosi, who were unseeded, did get a walkover win over second-seeded Shahar Peer and Yan Zi in the quarterfinals.
