Something Completely Different... Part XI
Elena Dementieva

Press conferences are excellent for finding out how a player felt they did in their match, their form and what they think of their next opponent - but what about all of those completely unrelated questions? Here is the first of many random questions posed to several of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour's brightest stars.

What was your favorite off-court activity at a tournament?

Elena Dementieva: I love photo shoots with animals, like the one I did in Australia this year. I had such a great experience. I met koalas, kangaroos and more - it was lots of fun. I remember doing one in Dubai too, a camel ride.

Vera Zvonareva: A few things in Auckland - one year I made a zoo visit and one year we visited natural kangaroos. You can feed the kangaroos and pet them too... I was surprised because I was able to take the baby kangaroo in my hards and give it back to the mommy. They were very nice.

Nadia Petrova: I enjoy going to the Habitat for Humanity build sites and learning what it takes to build a house, also socializing with all of the volunteers.

Ana Ivanovic: It's hard to pick one - there have been many enjoyable activities. I recently hit on the roof of a hotel in Rome, which was very enjoyable because of the beautiful views. I love children, so hitting clinics with kids it's fun too.

Cara Black: The best thing I've done off-court at a tournament was performance driving BMWs in Montréal!

Liezel Huber: Taking money at the toll booth in Miami! I still have the money I took. Just kidding!

Vania King: In Brisbane, I played an exhibition in place of a doubles match we were supposed to play but our opponents forfeited. I came out on the court, sang 'Go the Distance' (by Michael Bolton) and then played the exo. We won.

Aleksandra Wozniak: I like doing the fashion runways since I'm very into fashion but I also love to attend different sport games, like hockey :)

Sabine Lisicki: I like fashion shows - we had one in Montreal and it was really nice. Also the Hero shoot in Indian Wells. It's always fun doing something different, getting advice on something you're not used to, and so on. Also, I like autograph sessions, because you can meet your fans. They're very important!

Michaella Krajicek: Doing anything that involves an adrenaline rush!

Patty Schnyder: Diving with the sharks in Melbourne. I was in the aquarium with a shark. They made sure they fed the sharks before we went in!

Katarina Srebotnik: It was in Miami last year. Some WTA and ATP players got a chance to swim with the dolphins at the Miami Seaquarium.

Caroline Wozniacki: I love jet skiing, which I've done in Miami. I also like anything that involves shopping!

Bethanie Mattek-Sands: I barteneded in Ponte Vedra Beach this year. It was fun, I could do it over and over again. Also in Charleston I met some guys from their baseball team and had pictures taken with them. If there are ever any baseball players that would like pictures with me, sign me up. They're cute boys. Don't worry, my husband gave me the go-ahead!
