PATTAYA CITY, Thailand - Albeit due to unfortunate circumstances, the only seed in action on Day 1 of the PTT Pattaya Open was able to advance on Monday, as Sabine Lisicki got by an injured Akgul Amanmuradova.

Lisicki, ranked No.25 in the world and the No.2 seed at the International-level tournament, won the first set in 32 minutes, 6-0, when Amanmuradova was forced to stop due to a right abdominal muscle strain. Lisicki will next face either Tamarine Tanasugarn or Alla Kudryavtseva, who play Tuesday.
