BOGOTÁ, Colombia - Seeded players went 5 for 5 in second round action Wednesday at the XVIII Copa BBVA Colsanitas, with only one of them even dropping a set.

No.1 seed Gisela Dulko was tested in the second set, having to come back from 4-1 down, but topped Edina Gallovits, 62 75, the third time in three career clashes she has beaten the Romanian in straight sets, including here in last year's semifinals. Later in the day, Dulko and Gallovits paired up and recorded a victory in the first round of the doubles competition.

Next up for Dulko is sixth-seeded Sandra Zahlavova, who is playing this event for the third time but had not recorded a victory until Wednesday. She routed Petra Cetkovska, 62 62, getting revenge for her defeat to her fellow Czech in the first round here last year in their only previous meeting.

In Wednesday's closest match, No.8 seed Arantxa Parra Santonja survived Patricia Mayr, 57 76(5) 64, despite blowing a 5-3 lead in the first set and almost losing the second after jumping out to a 5-2 lead. In the quarters, she will play No.3 seed Sara Errani, who handled Sílvia Soler Espinosa, 63 61. Also Wednesday, fifth-seeded Angelique Kerber edged Rossana de los Rios, 76(2) 64.

The only seed in action Thursday is No.7 seed Klara Zakopalova, who will take on Mariya Koryttseva.
