Two teams recorded their first Sony Ericsson WTA Tour titles as duos last week with a match tie-break victory in the final - Chan Yung-Jan and Zheng Jie at the inaugural Malaysian Open and Polona Hercog and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova at the Abierto Mexicano TELCEL.

Second-seeded Chan and Zheng secured their title in Kuala Lumpur Sunday with a 67(4) 62 107 defeat of Anastasia and Arina Rodionova. Chan - who now has nine Tour doubles titles - and Zheng - who has 12 - were playing together for just the second time, having reached the quarters in Dubai the previous week.

"I am lucky to have a very good partner," Zheng said. "It has been a very nice experience for me in Kuala Lumpur, where many of the Chinese fans have supported me. I hope to come back next year and I thank all the sponsors and fans."

"We are disappointed to lose today but it is our first final playing together and we had a lot of fun here," said Arina Rodionova, whose best results with her sister this year had been semifinal showings in Brisbane and Pattaya City. "We want to thank everybody for their support."

Meanwhile, in Acapulco on Saturday, fourth-seeded Hercog - a runner-up to Venus Williams in the singles final, and Zahlavova Strycova edged unseeded Italians Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, 26 61 102. This was Hercog's first Tour title of any kind and Zahlavova Strycova's seventh, all of them having come in doubles.

"It was our first time playing together," said Zahlavova Strycova. "We had so much fun on the court. We played really well at the end and the tie-break was amazing. I love to come here and I am coming for sure next year."

Three of Errani and Vinci's four matches in Acapulco went to match tie-breaks, including their semifinal win over top-seeded Czechs Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka.
