The doubles events in Rome and Estoril were captured by the most prolific duo so far this year on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour and a team playing together for the first time.

Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta won their Tour-leading third title of 2010 on Saturday with a 64 62 victory over second-seeded María José Martínez Sánchez and Nuria Llagostera Vives in the final of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia a round after upending top-seeded Liezel Huber and Nadia Petrova in a match tie-break. In the final, the sixth-seeded Dulko and Pennetta dropped the first two games of the match, but lost only four more the rest of the way to raise their career record against the Spaniards to 3-2.

Dulko and Pennetta's other titles this year were in their last two events together and were also Premier-level - at Miami and Stuttgart. They now have six titles in their careers together; Dulko has 12 doubles titles to her name, including a Tour-best four this year, and Pennetta has nine.

Also on Saturday, top-seeded Sorana Cirstea and Anabel Medina Garrigues beat unseeded Vitalia Diatchenko and Aurélie Védy, 61 75, in the final of the Estoril Open, concluding a week in which the first-time pair did not lose a set.

"I'm really happy to win the Estoril Open," said Cirstea, who now has three Tour doubles titles to her name. "It was really weird conditions here with it raining all morning and us changing venues, but I want to thank Anabel for playing with me. We make a really good team!"

"It has been a good two weeks for me, winning the doubles in Fès and now here in Estoril," said Medina Garrigues, who now has 15 Tour doubles titles. "I'm very happy to have won with Sorana. I haven't had a great start to the year, so these titles really help my confidence."
