Experience as a duo did not matter much in the doubles events on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour this week.

No.4 seeds Maria Kirilenko and Zheng Jie, playing in their first tournament together, took out Tour legends and No.2 seeds Lisa Raymond and Rennae Stubbs, 64 64, in Sunday's final at the Mercury Insurance Open in San Diego. It was Kirilenko's seventh career Tour doubles title and first this year and Zheng's 13th career Tour doubles title and second this year.

In Saturday's final at the inaugural e-Boks Sony Ericsson Open in Copenhagen, top-seeded Julia Goerges and Anna-Lena Groenefeld defeated fourth-seeded Vitalia Diatchenko and Tatiana Poutchek by the same 64 64 score. They did not lose more than four games in a set all week.

In Goerges and Groenefeld's only previous tournament together, they reached the semifinals at Bad Gastein last month before withdrawing, therefore technically they have not lost a match as a team.

"It was a great week," said Goerges, who now has two Tour career doubles titles. "We didn't drop a set. We're really happy!"

"You could say we have a clean record so far," said Groenefeld, who now has 11 career Tour doubles titles. "We're both really happy to win the title this week. We'll be playing the US Open together. I won't be going to Asia this year, as my singles ranking dropped a little bit, but we'll try to commit for the whole year next year and see how it goes."
