NEW YORK, NY, USA - Many of the same faces that are accustomed to doubles success on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour are competing in the mixed doubles event at the US Open.

No.1 seeds Bob Bryan and Liezel Huber are both ranked No.1 in the world in doubles (Bob is co-No.1 alongside brother Mike) and among Bryan's six mixed majors is a French Open title in 2009 alongside Huber. One dangerous team in their path could be possible quarterfinal opponents Wesley Moodie and Lisa Raymond. The No.7 seeds were runners-up at Wimbledon earlier this summer, and Raymond is a four-time mixed major titlist. In the semifinals, Bryan and Huber could face No.5 seeds Dick Norman and two-time mixed major titlist Rennae Stubbs.

The bottom half of the draw is led by second-seeded Leander Paes and Cara Black, who are up to three mixed Grand Slams together for their careers after capturing the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year. Paes has six mixed Slams to his name and Black has five. Possible semifinal opponents for them are third-seeded Nenad Zimonjic and Katarina Srebotnik. They both have four mixed Slams, two of which were with each other.

Some other teams that could be dangerous are No.4 seeds Daniel Nestor and Bethanie Mattek-Sands, No.6 seeds Andy Ram and Elena Vesnina, defending champions Travis Parrott and Carly Gullickson, American teenagers Ryan Harrison and Melanie Oudin, seven-time mixed major winner Mahesh Bhupathi and four-time mixed major winner Daniela Hantuchova (she and Black are two of the three women to win all four mixed majors in the Open Era) and Sam Querrey and Nicole Gibbs.
