NEW YORK, NY, USA - World No.1 doubles player Liezel Huber's sister, Monita, underwent a vascular procedure and updates us all on her progress.

We are very happy to report that all went well with my vascular procedure at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital in New York and I am up and about again.

For those of you who know Liezel, you will know how much she has done for me and how involved she has been with it all. It could not have been easy for her focusing on the US Open and anticipating my procedure, but this is what makes her so special and a real champion.

Our trip to New York had four big highlights. Being able to see Liezel play the finals of the US Open ladies' doubles and winning the mixed doubles title were the first... I could not have been prouder of my twin sister. Second was seeing my parents. Third was getting help from the top medical specialists in the world. Fourth was having my husband by my side and getting the best care.

A big thank you to Dr. Rosen, Dr. Milton Waner and to the Waners' Children's Vascular Anomaly foundation, and to Roosevelt Hospital staff for their good care, support and help. A special thank you to all those wonderful people out there for keeping me in their thoughts and prayers all accross the world. To Nadia and Liezel, a big thank you for those very special messages to the doctors that have taken such good care of me. I am sure they will find a good place for those autographed giant US Open tennis balls!

To all of you - thank you for your concerns, we will keep you posted on my progress, please keep cheering for Liezel.

Kind Regards,

Monita
