LUXEMBOURG, Luxembourg - A very competitive field has descended on Luxembourg this year for the BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open, led by five Top 30 players - two of them plus a certain former Top 10 star spoke to the local press before they played their first matches. Here's what they had to say...

Ana Ivanovic: "I'm very happy to be back in Luxembourg. I feel like I'm playing very well right now. I feel like I'm finally playing like the top player I know I am."
** Ivanovic won the title in her most recent appearance here (2007).

Patty Schnyder: "I'm very pleased with how my season is ending as I didn't do too well in the first half of the year. I had a big battle with Petkovic in Linz and won, but Ana was just too strong for me in the final. She's playing very well."
** Schnyder has been to the quarterfinals here four times before, including last year, when she pulled off an early round upset over Kim Clijsters.

Aravane Rezai: "I haven't done as well as I would have liked to since the US Open, but I think I can turn it around and finish the season well here. I haven't done well in Luxembourg in the past so I would really like to have a good result this week, and a couple of wins to end my season on a good note."
** Rezai fell first round in her only previous appearance in Luxembourg (2009).
