DOHA, Qatar - Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta will conclude 2010 as the No.1 doubles team, it was announced on Saturday after they won their semifinal match at the season-ending WTA Championships - Doha 2010.

Dulko and Pennetta have won six WTA titles together this year and could win their seventh with a victory over Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik on Sunday. They had already won four titles as a team before this year, too.

"It's incredible. We never thought we could achieve this when we started playing together," they said. "We've had a great year, winning tournaments and so many matches in order to become the best doubles team in the world. Being the No.1 team is especially great since it is something we can share together."

"Gisela and Flavia's focus, commitment to training and consistent results have gotten them to the pinnacle of our sport," said Stacey Allaster, Chairman & CEO of the WTA. "I congratulate them on this tremendous accomplishment."

Dulko and Pennetta compiled a 17-match win streak in the spring, taking them to titles in Miami, Stuttgart and Rome and to the finals of Madrid, where they lost to the Williams sisters. They have won three more titles since, in Bastad, Montréal and Moscow, and are seeking one more this week.
