PARIS, France - Amélie Mauresmo, a two-time Grand Slam champion and former No.1, will be returning to the WTA in a different capacity in just over a month, as Co-Tournament Director of the Open GDF SUEZ in Paris.

Alongside Regis Brunet of IMG, Mauresmo will direct the Premier-level event for the first time. It was one of her favorite tournaments as a player - the Frenchwoman missed it just once in her 14 years of competing on the WTA.

On the first night of the tournament, Mauresmo will host a Pro-Am in aid of the Curie Institute, of which she has been a patron since 2005. French tennis legends Yannick Noah, Henri Leconte and Guy Forget will also take part.

"I experienced some of the greatest moments of my career on that center court," Mauresmo, who retired in 2009, said. "Thanks to GDF SUEZ, I will continue the adventure. I hope to bring my experience as a player to this new role. I want to learn new things and share emotions with everyone again."

Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin, Nadia Petrova and Aravane Rezai are some of the marquee names who will be competing at this year's event.
