Website Spotlight: Ayumi Morita
Ayumi Morita website

Ayumi Morita is a rising star, as proven by her ascending to a career-high No.48 last month. Currently the highest-ranked Japanese player at No.54, she is coming off a quarterfinal appearance at Kuala Lumpur. She reached the semifinals there in 2010, matching her career best results - final four showings at Strasbourg and Guangzhou in 2009.

Now, Ayumi, who will turn 21 on Friday, has a state-of-the-art website to match her state-of-the-art game. Her eye-catching homepage design was inspired by the image of her favorite musician, Avril Lavigne. It features a giant picture of her in action topped by links to each page on the site. One of them, her Profile page, is available in both Japanese and English. Her Schedule and Results page has scores of every match she's played, going all the way back through her playing activity as a junior. She even scored a win over current No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki at a junior event in Japan in 2004!

There is also a link to her Blog page for those who can read Japanese. Ayumi's Gallery page features pictures of her from most of the events she's played the last two years. There are also a couple of interviews with her in Japanese. Fans can post messages or read other fans' comments on her Fan Messages page.

For all this and more, visit Ayumi's site at ayumi-morita.com. She also has a Twitter account at twitter.com/ayumi_morita, which she updates frequently. Some of the recent posts are about Lavigne, whom Ayumi follows on Twitter!
