BARCELONA, Spain - Roberta Vinci upped her career record at the Barcelona Ladies Open to 13-1 on Friday, but her latest win may have been her toughest yet, as it was the first time she was extended to a third set tie-break here.

Vinci, who went over the $2-million career prize money mark this week, outlasted Laura Pous-Tio, 46 64 76(4), in 2 hours and 35 minutes in semifinal action. She rallied from a 3-0 third set deficit in beating the Spaniard for the second straight year here.

It was an especially long day for Pous-Tio, who earlier in the day finished off a 2 hour and 40 minute quarterfinal victory over Polona Hercog, 67(7) 61 75, which was suspended in the first set by rain on Thursday. Pous-Tio can take solace in the fact that she matched her career-best results - semifinal showings at Prague and Budapest in 2005.

The sixth-seeded Vinci will be going for her fourth career title on Saturday when she squares off with Czech Lucie Hradecka, having won Bogotá in 2007, Barcelona in 2009 and Luxembourg in 2010. As for Hradecka, she won her semifinal in straight sets, just like all her other matches this week, this time, 61 75, over fifth-seeded Sara Errani. She is now into her fourth career final, having lost the other three in straight sets - at Bad Gastein in 2008 and at Strasbourg and Istanbul in 2009.

Vinci, who won her only previous match against Hradecka in Toronto qualifying in 2009, is looking to make it three straight Italian titlists in Barcelona, after winning here in 2009 and losing in last year's final to Francesca Schiavone.

In semifinal doubles action, No.1 seeds Iveta Benesova and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova were victorious and on Saturday will be going for a WTA-best third title in 2010, as well as the eighth of their careers together.
