Huber & Bryan Try For Third Mixed Major Together

LONDON, England - Liezel Huber and Bob Bryan are the No.1 seeds in the mixed doubles draw at Wimbledon, not a surprise considering their resumes.

Huber and Bryan won the 2009 French Open and 2010 US Open as a duo, and Bryan has an additional five mixed majors with other partners. In addition, Huber is ranked No.5 on the WTA doubles rankings and Bryan is co-ranked No.1 on the ATP doubles rankings with his brother Mike.

Second-seeded Yaroslava Shvedova and Max Mirnyi could stand in the Americans' way of a third title together, as Mirnyi is a three-time mixed Slam winner. Even more dangerous may be third-seeded Katarina Srebotnik and Nenad Zimonjic. They won the 2006 and 2010 French Opens together, and have been runners-up at four other majors, including this year's French Open.

Among the lower seeds, 14th-seeded Cara Black and Leander Paes could pose a threat. Paes has six mixed Slam titles and Black has five, with three of them having come as a duo - at the 2008 US Open, 2010 Australian Open and 2010 Wimbledon. They were also runners-up at two other majors.

Here is a look at a few other contenders:
(4) Elena Vesnina/Mahesh Bhupathi: Bhupathi has seven mixed Slams.
(5) Kveta Peschke/Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi: Best result together is runner-up showing at 2010 US Open.
(8) Chan Yung-Jan/Daniel Nestor: Chan was a finalist at this year's Australian Open, where she lost to, ironically, Srebotnik and Nestor.
(10) Lisa Raymond/Dick Norman: Raymond has four mixed Slams.
Casey Dellacqua/Scott Lipsky: Unseeded again, just like a couple of weeks ago at Roland Garros, where they went all the way to the title - their first.
Samantha Stosur/Mike Bryan: Each has two mixed majors.
