LONDON, England - A day after five seeded teams went down, it was an upset-free Tuesday in doubles at the All-England Club, although No.2 seeds Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik were pushed to the brink, edging No.14 seeds Cara Black and Shahar Peer, 62 57 63, to reach the quarterfinals.

While Peschke and Srebotnik have yet to go all the way in the six Grand Slams they have played, they have shown remarkable consistency, only falling short of the quarters once. They have also shown especially good form on grass, where they are now 13-2, including five victories en route to the title in Eastbourne earlier this month.

No team has had an easier path to the quarterfinals than third-seeded Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond. They dropped just three games in the first round, one in the second round and again only one in the third round of their 61 60 rout of Angelique Kerber and Christina McHale. Next up for the Americans, semifinalists at this year's French Open in their only previous major, are lucky losers Marina Erakovic and Tamarine Tanasugarn.

In another quarterfinal that was set Tuesday, No.4 seeds Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina will take on Nuria Llagostera Vives and Arantxa Parra Santonja. Mirza and Vesnina, runners-up at Roland Garros in their only previous major, beat No.13 seeds Daniela Hantuchova and Agnieszka Radwanska, 64 63. The Spaniards topped Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, 75 64. They also beat the Italians in the final of Marbella earlier this year for their second career title together.

Both of the quarterfinals that are in place are scheduled for Wednesday, as well as the remaining three third round matches.
