LONDON, England - A day that could have been a forgettable one for Sabine Lisicki at the All-England Club one turned into a fairly memorable one, as she shook off her semifinal loss to Maria Sharapova in singles and combined with Samantha Stosur to advance to the semifinals in doubles.

Lisicki and Stosur's career together has been brief but successful, having won Stuttgart earlier this year in their only previous event and having now reeled off four matches in a row at Wimbledon to raise their record to 8-0. In fact, they had never even lost a set until Thursday's 75 16 61 quarterfinal defeat of No.6 seeds Nadia Petrova and Anastasia Rodionova. Lisicki and Stosur, who conquered No.1 seeds and defending champions Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova in the second round, next play another team having a surprising run - lucky losers Marina Erakovic and Tamarine Tanasugarn.

Earlier in the day, second-seeded Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik continued their winning ways, edging eighth-seeded Peng Shuai and Zheng Jie, 62 67(7) 64. Their impressive Grand Slam history now reads like this: one runner-up showing, one semifinal showing, two quarterfinal showings, one third round showing and at least another semifinal showing this fortnight. In Friday's semifinals, Peschke and Srebotnik will play No.4 seeds Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina.

Whichever team is victorious in Saturday's final, it will be their first major as a duo, although Stosur has won two doubles Slams alongside Lisa Raymond.
