BAKU, Azerbaijan - Mariya Koryttseva and Tatiana Poutchek won the very first event they competed in together at Guangzhou in 2008. In the 10 events they played after that, they failed to advance beyond the quarterfinals. However, they found success again this week in Baku, capturing their second title as a duo. It did not come easily, though, as they were extended to match tie-breaks in each of their last three matches, including in Sunday's final - a 63 26 108 victory over Monica Niculescu and Galina Voskoboeva.

"We're really happy. Winning a tournament is always nice and that final was tough," said Poutchek, who now has six WTA doubles titles. "Monica and Galina are great doubles players and a great team. We knew it would be tough and we would have to stick together."

"I'm so happy for this week," said Koryttseva, whose eight WTA doubles titles have all come on hardcourts. "Finally some results are coming out for me. It has been a good week and I've enjoyed being here so much."

This was the seventh time this year the No.1 and No.2 seeds have played in a doubles final. Here are the results of those matches:
