TASHKENT, Uzbekistan - A day after second-seeded Bojana Jovanovski was sent home from the Tashkent Open, third-seeded Pauline Parmentier and eighth-seeded Aravane Rezai were also eliminated.

After a 5-5 start, Eleni Daniilidou only lost one more game the rest of the way in her 75 61 defeat of 2007 champion Parmentier.

"It was high-level tennis from both sides," said Daniilidou, who snapped a five-match WTA main draw losing streak. "It was a tough battle and I was expecting one. I played some good tennis at important times."

Tuesday's other upset saw Akgul Amanmuradova convert on both of her break point opportunities and save all three break points chances on her own serve in her 64 63 win over Rezai. Amanmuradova has played here every year since turning pro in 2000, not surprising considering she is a native and resident of Tashkent. She has also had her two best career resulst at this event - runner-up showings in 2005 and 2009.

"It was important for me to win here in front of my home crowd," Amanmuradova said. "I'm happy I played to a plan and executed it well. I also feel that I have become mature probably with age and experience, and all this is paying off."

Victorious seeds were No.1 seed Ksenia Pervak, No.5 seed Magdalena Rybarikova and No.6 seed Alla Kudryavtseva. Pervak beat Galina Voskoboeva, 62 75, Rybarikova edged Uzbek wildcard Nigina Abduraimova, 67(5) 64 63, and Kudryavtseva topped fellow Russian Vesna Dolonts, 62 75.

"It's great to be back. Things are familiar here, I'm really feeling comfortable and my game is also suited to these courts," said Kudryavtseva, who won her only title to date here last year.
