Hsieh Su-Wei and Zheng Saisai had not paired up prior to this week in Guangzhou, and not only were they victorious, they had one of the most dominant events a duo has had all year, concluding with a 62 61 rout of Chan Chin-Wei and Han Xinyun in Saturday's final. Here is how their road to the championship compares to the others titlists who also did not lose a set all tournament so far in 2011:
| Event | Titlists | Avg. Games Lost/Match |
| Auckland | Peschke/Srebotnik | 3.25 |
| Hobart | Errani/Vinci | 4.75 |
| Paris | Mattek-Sands/Shaughnessy | 4.25 |
| Indian Wells | Mirza/Vesnina | 4.8 |
| Stuttgart | Lisicki/Stosur | 6.25 |
| Fès | Hlavackova/Voracova | 6.25 |
| Roland Garros | Hlavackova/Hradecka | 6.67 |
| Copenhagen | Larsson/Woehr | 6.25 |
| Bastad | Domínguez Lino/Martínez Sánchez | 6.33 |
| Palermo | Errani/Vinci | 5.25 |
| College Park | Mirza/Shvedova | 4.25 |
| Guangzhou | Hsieh/Zheng | 3.50 |
Notes: Guangzhou was Hsieh's eighth career doubles title and Zheng's first ... Hsieh and Zheng and Peschke and Srebotnik did not have a set closer than 6-3 during their title runs ... Hlavackova and Hradecka were the first team to capture a major without losing a set since the Williams sisters at Wimbledon in 2009 ... Mirza and Vesnina, Lisicki and Stosur, Hlavackova and Hradecka and Domínguez Lino and Martínez Sánchez were all unseeded titlists on the list.
Also this week, Natalie Grandin and Vladimira Uhlirova won their first doubles title together after losing five previous finals with a 76(5) 64 triumph over Vera Dushevina and Galina Voskoboeva on Sunday in Seoul.
