MELBOURNE, Australia - In between practices last fortnight, WTA stars Caroline Wozniacki, Ana Ivanovic and Ashleigh Barty joined ATP stars Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gilles Simon for a game of tennis in one of Melbourne's iconic laneways. Two of Australia's biggest sporting stars also joined in.

Organized by adidas, the event - titled Stické Tennis - saw the players head into the city where the tennis net was replaced with construction mesh, ballkids were replaced with breakdancers and comfy chairs made way for crates at each change of end area, all making for a unique experience. Billy Slater, a rugby player, and Dale Thomas, an Australian Rules Football player, joined them.

The event was filmed to promote the year-long 'The Game is the Game' adidas campaign, which will challenge some of the world's best tennis players at a series of tennis based games around some of the major tournaments in 2012.

Thomas said he had been looking forward to challenging the players and was blown away by how skilful they were. "Billy and I got away with a few lucky shots today and we're definitely glad we didn't play them on a real court," he said. "You can see why these guys train twice a day, they were phenomenal."

The players gave the Aussie duo some much needed pointers ahead of the first Slam of 2012. They also gave media a first look at the colorful new fashions designed by global sportswear manufacturer adidas ahead of the event.
