Every week there's a lot happening on the WTA - on the court, off the court, by the numbers, even a few tweets... catch up on it all in the WTA Diary.
Jelena Jankovic turned 27 on Tuesday and to celebrate the occasion the BMW Malaysian Open held an impromptu birthday party. There were no gifts from Caroline Garcia, Jankovic's first round opponent, though, who came within a whisker of spoiling the celebrations, squandering three match points before eventually losing a thriller, 76(7) 46 76(2).

500 And Counting
Such has been Paola Suárez's form since her return to the WTA, it's almost like she never went away. And in Acapulco on Wednesday, alongside her new partner Gisela Dulko, she reached a significant milestone, defeating Alexandra Dulgheru and Stéphanie Foretz Gacon to record the 500th doubles victory of her career.
Home Sweet Home
Even in the glamorous, globetrotting world of a professional tennis player, sometimes there's no place like home. Particularly if you're Agnieszka Radwanska, who, in the build up to Indian Wells, is shunning the more salubrious surrounds of the Californian coast for a few days in her home town of Krakow. One problem, though, Poland's second city doesn't have a hardcourt.
At the start of February, Hungarian teenager Timea Babos had a solitary WTA main draw win to her name. Eight wins later and she's now the youngest player in the Top 100 and the WTA's newest title holder.
Later this month, one of the WTA's most popular players, Alisa Kleybanova, will make a welcome return to competitive tennis. Kleybanova, who has been suffering from Hodgkin's lymphoma, will play her first match for 10 months in Miami, which she revealed in a special message on Wednesday.
Understandably, @akleybanova's announcement went down well in the Twittersphere…

Unperturbed by eating creepy crawlies on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! a few years back, Martina Navratilova announced this week that she has signed up for a second stint on reality TV. This time, Navratilova will follow in fellow WTA legend Monica Seles' footsteps, by swapping her tennis shoes for dancing ones and taking part in the upcoming series of Dancing with the Stars.
Quote Of The Week
"Yes friends, everybody loses. Today was a day where my opponent was just better than me. And trust me, as a sophomore on tour, you will find that you're going to have some weeks where it just doesn't go your way. And what can ya do? Just like they all say - get back on the horse again."
