ACAPULCO, México - For the first time in almost two years there will be an all-Italian final on the WTA, after Flavia Pennetta and Sara Errani cruised through to the final of the Abierto Mexicano TELCEL in Acapulco on Friday.

The No.3-seeded Errani was the first to advance, lifting her game from 4-2 down in the first set and winning 10 of the last 11 games of the match to take out close friend and No.1-seeded Roberta Vinci in straight sets, 64 61.

"It took me a while to get my rhythm, but by the end I was happy with how I played," Errani said. "I don't think it was the best tennis from either of us - it's always hard playing a friend, but of course I'm happy to reach the final."

Later, Errani and Vinci teamed up to reach the doubles final, where they will face Spanish duo Lourdes Domínguez Lino and Arantxa Parra Santonja.

"It's great to be in the doubles final with Robi for the second week, after our title in Monterrey," Errani added. "It has been a long week with lots of matches and I'm definitely tired, but I will give it one last effort tomorrow in both finals."

Joining Errani in the singles final will be No.2 seed Pennetta, who broke serve six times en route to a 62 62 win over No.4 seed Irina-Camelia Begu.

"Today I played a little better than my other matches here," Pennetta said. "My serve was working better. But every match is different and tomorrow will be tough against Sara. But at least one of us will bring the trophy home."

"Against Flavia I will just focus on my game," Errani commented. "It's nice knowing that whatever happens, an Italian will win the title this week."

This will be Pennetta's seventh final in Acapulco - in fact she has reached the final the last seven times she has played here, winning two titles in her previous six finals. "I just love Acapulco," she said. "You wake up with the Sun, the swimming pool, the beach... maybe that's why I play so well here."

Pennetta is 9-12 in her career in WTA finals; Errani is 2-3 in WTA finals.

Pennetta leads Errani in their head-to-head series, 3-1.

This will be the first all-Italian WTA final since Barcelona in April 2010, when Francesca Schiavone beat Vinci for the title. This was the first time since Palermo in July 2009 that three Italians reached the semifinals of a WTA event.
