It has been quite a fortnight for Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci. In their first event since their runner-up showing at the Australian Open in January, they were victorious in Monterrey last week without dropping a set. Then they accomplished the same feat this week in Acapulco, highlighted by a 62 61 rout of Lourdes Domínguez Lino and Arantxa Parra Santonja in Saturday's final, to raise their record to 13-2 on the year.

The Italians now each have 10 doubles titles as individuals, and have seven as a duo since teaming up for the first time at a WTA event at the start of 2010. Only five teams have had at least that many since then. Here is a list of them:

In addition to her doubles success in Acapulco, Errani also was triumphant in singles there, becoming the first player since Iveta Benesova at Fès in 2010 to win both events at the same tournament.

"It has been a great week for me," Errani said. "To finish the week with the singles and doubles trophy is better than I could have hoped for."

Interestingly enough, en route to the singles title, Errani beat none other than Vinci in the semifinals. The final four showing was Vinci's best singles result of the year so far.

Also this week, Chinese Taipei's Chang Kai-Chen and Chuang Chia-Jung picked up their first title as a duo with a 75 64 defeat of Chan Hao-Ching and Rika Fujiwara in Sunday's Kuala Lumpur final. It was Chang's second career doubles title and Chuang's 18th.

"It's a great feeling to win here and I have to thank my partner," Chang said. "Our opponents deserve credit too as they played their second match of the day and it wasn't easy. We did try to make full use of the fact they had played earlier but it didn't really make a difference. They started off having a good strategy but we remained focused - we watched them play the Pliskova sisters and had a plan too. We moved well and stayed calm throughout.

"I wish we could partner each other more often but probably the next time we play together will be the clay season in the middle of the year."
