ESTORIL, Portugal - Anabel Medina Garrigues and Jarmila Gajdosova stepped off the clay of the Estoril Open and took to the waters of Cascais, getting a brief sailing lesson from six Portuguese Olympic sailors.

Medina Garrigues, Gajdosova and ATP World Tour players Stanislas Wawrinka and Rui Machado headed to the Cascais Marina on Sunday afternoon and met six of Portugal's Olympic sailors - Gustavo Lima, Sara Carmo, Rita Goncalves, Diana Neves, Mariana Lobato and Francisco Andrade - and were shown how to sail. That was followed by a race pitting Wawrinka and Machado against Medina Garrigues and Gajdosova, and of course the Spanish-Australian WTA duo won.

"It was a totally new experience, and it's always nice to do things other than just playing tennis," Medina Garrigues said of the experience. "The girls were showing us you have to be very strong to control the boats, strong abdominals too. I really enjoyed learning about it and all of them were very good athletes.

"Jarka and I were very happy we could beat the guys in the race too."
