Slava's Shots, Vol. IV...

LONDON, England - It has been an exciting time for Yaroslava Shvedova. Just a few months ago she was playing ITF Women's Circuit events to build her ranking back up, now she's back in the Top 50 with a bullet after incredible runs at the French Open and Wimbledon - and she even made it into the history books along the way, the first woman in the Open Era to win a golden set.

"I will always remember those matches in Paris and Wimbledon," Shvedova said. "It was a very fun and exciting time for me. After Wimbledon I had 10 days off and just had fun at home with friends and family, but then I got back to work. These results are just the beginning. There's lots more work to do."

Shvedova is back in London now to represent Kazakhstan at the Olympic Tennis Event in singles and doubles. "It's incredible, it's like a dream!" she said. "It has been my goal for so long and after my injury last year I was thinking maybe it wouldn't happen, but after Paris, I knew I had made it. I'm super happy. It's very special to be here with amazing athletes from all over the world.

"I hope I can watch other events. I love all sports so if I have some time I'll try. But if I play well I probably won't have time... and I really want to play well!"

Another thing Shvedova will probably be doing during the Olympics is taking some snaps - since the beginning of the year she has been sharing her passion for photography with wtatennis.com. She calls her photo blog Slava's Shots.

"I've always liked photography," she says. "I found I could see good photos when I looked at things but I didn't have a good camera. In 2009, I decided to buy one so I could take the photos I could see in everyday things around me."
